The Ford Focus is a compact car currently offered in sedan, wagon, and three-door and five-door hatchback body styles. It is also one of Ford's most popular small cars of all time.
The 2011 recalls for the Ford Focus saw reason by way of faulty fuel pumps/fuel systems: on certain vehicles, it is reported, there is/was contamination of the filter in the fuel delivery module. This problem was said to make it possible for a reduction of fuel and/or loss of fuel to the engine. This problem obviously had the possible effects of engine surging, hesitation, or skipping, if you will, all of which technically could have resulted in a crash.
